MLB Home Run Derby lineup: Meet the 2026 participants, from Bryce Harper to Munetaka Murakami

Meet the 2026 Home Run Derby lineup, featuring familiar names like Bryce Harper and Munetaka Murakami, as eight sluggers descend on Citizens Bank Park with a $1 million prize on the line. This year’s field blends hometown favorites, a budding rookie powerhouse, and an MVP-caliber contender, all ready to light up the Philadelphia night on Monday.
At 23, Jac Caglianone of the Royals makes his first Derby appearance just two years after being drafted. Despite a rocky rookie campaign in 2025, where he batted .157 over 62 games, he has rebounded this season to post 15 homers and a .785 OPS across 89 games. Since June began, he’s added 10 homers and posted a .912 OPS, showing he’s entering the Derby hot. While 15 homers might not seem extraordinary, Statcast notes that only 12 hitters have more guaranteed power than him this season, and when he connects, the ball travels. Caglianone is aiming to become the Royals’ first Derby champion.
Junior Caminero of the Rays is even younger and has established himself as one of baseball’s best all-around hitters. Caminero finished his first full MLB season with 45 homers and 110 RBI in 2025, and this year he has continued to perform at a high level, dispelling any notion that his numbers were inflated by a temporary ballpark setup. He’s hitting .281 with 28 homers and a .933 OPS through 93 games, including a 13-homer burst in a 17-game stretch from late June to early July that vaulted him into MVP conversations in a wide-open AL race. Caminero is making his second Derby appearance, having finished as the runner-up to Cal Raleigh in Atlanta last year, just days after his 22nd birthday.
Willson Contreras of the Red Sox sits at 34 and is already on pace for the best power season of his career. He’s belied traditional expectations of a pure slugger, yet he’s on track to surpass his career-high of 24 homers, entering the Derby with 20 through his first half. Contreras has been a bright spot for Boston this season, posting a .921 OPS across 88 games and carrying his team with timely power when it has mattered most, a testament to his growing strength and steady swing.
This year’s Derby field also includes two players with strong ties to their cities, a standout rookie who’s proven his power on a big stage, and a standout veteran who has consistently produced at a high level. Together, they form a lineup that promises to deliver both excitement and drama as eight sluggers chase the iconic title and the million-dollar prize under the bright lights of Philadelphia.
