Caitlin Clark sets another WNBA assists record in Indiana Fever win

By admin — In News — July 13, 2026

Despite returning from a minutes restriction and gradually easing back into her usual workload within Indiana’s (14-9) lineup, Caitlin Clark added another milestone to her growing list of achievements on Sunday night. In the Fever’s 109-75 blowout of the Las Vegas Aces (17-7) at Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas, Clark—who previously starred at Iowa—delivered a standout performance that underscored her evolving influence in the WNBA.
As the third quarter drew to a close, Clark uncorked a crafty no-look style pass to teammate Monique Billings, who converted a contested basket while drawing a foul and completed the three-point play. That assist marked Clark’s 600th career setup, making her the fastest player in WNBA history to reach the milestone, accomplishing it in just 72 games. The quick-burst passer added a solid scoring line to accompany the milestone, finishing with 12 points on 5-for-11 shooting, including 1-for-5 from beyond the arc and 1-for-2 from the free-throw line. She also contributed seven assists and six rebounds across 24 minutes of court time.
Clark’s rapid ascent to 600 assists stands in sharp relief against the broader arc of all-time leaders. The league’s career regular-season assist record is held by Hall of Famer Sue Bird, who has totaled 3,234 assists. Clark’s current pace suggests a bright future ahead, with many more opportunities to climb the list as she continues to grow within Indiana’s system.
With five wins in their last seven games, the Fever have climbed to fifth place in the standings. They will look to build on this momentum when they return to Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Wednesday, July 15, to host the Golden State Valkyries (17-7). The matchup is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. CT tip and will be broadcast on USA Network, offering fans another chance to witness Clark’s evolving influence as she helps guide Indiana’s attack.
