A few days ago we reported that Bayern Munich and Denmark youth international Jonathan Asp Jensen was nearing a move to La Liga side RC Deportivo. The 20-year-old had identified the Spanish top-flight club as his preferred destination, and all signs pointed to an imminent official announcement. It now appears that Asp Jensen will sign with Deportivo tomorrow, having already completed his medical examinations successfully. In our earlier coverage of the Asp Jensen transfer, we noted that Bayern had rejected Lazio’s bid and opted to accept Deportivo’s offer instead. As part of the deal, the Bavarian club will receive a transfer fee of €6 million from Deportivo, a substantial sum for a player who is still considered a youth talent. Since joining Bayern Munich in 2022, Asp Jensen has made just one appearance for the senior team in all competitions: the 2-0 Bundesliga victory over Wolfsburg, where he came on as a substitute for Lovro Zvonarek, another product of Bayern’s youth ranks.
