Collings notes that Jimenez previously worked at Cadiz, alongside current Arsenal consultant Joaquin Acedo. Acedo, a former Cadiz staffer, will be working part-time with Arsenal in the 2026/27 season. He has been conducting a review of Arsenal’s medical team, with the BBC recently noting that his influence on the club’s summer changes has been substantial.

Arsenal’s head of sports science and performance, Tom Allen, is set to depart this summer, joining head of medical Zafar Iqbal and lead performance coach Sam Wilson in leaving the club. Jimenez appears to be among the incoming replacements, with Antonio Gomez, the fitness coach from S.C. Braga, also linked to Arsenal. Reports from Portugal last week stated that Gomez had left Braga for Arsenal, and Braga has already filled his position with Ramiro Marin from Barca Atletic. There have also been links to Eneko Angulo of Real Betis and Arnaldo Abrantes of Aston Villa, though those appointments have not been confirmed.

The Arsenal U21 head coach position is vacant after Max Porter moved to Stoke City, with David Horseman appearing to assume charge on an interim basis.
