Evaluating Recent Saints Three-Round Mock Draft for 2027

By admin — In News — July 14, 2026

The 2027 NFL Draft is still in the distant future, but it’s never too early for a three-round New Orleans Saints mock draft. This isn’t intended to predict what the Saints will do in April, but to show fans potential options and targets to watch during the season.Having said that, it’s time to dive into a Saints’ three-round mock draft.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementRound One: Leonard Moore, CB, Notre DameLeonard Moore’s elite size, athleticism, and technique make him a well-rounded prospect who’s arguably the best defender in college football. The six-foot-two, 195-pound cornerback had an exceptional 2025 campaign with five interceptions and seven pass breakups. His superb physicality and footwork make him shut down in press-man coverage and his amazing IQ, and awareness let him thrive in zone coverage. The Saints’ cornerback room is viewed with skepticism heading into 2026. Kool-Aid McKinstry is on track to become a star, and second-year player Quincy Riley has potential, but they lack consistency and depth. As a result, it would make sense to invest in Moore next April.Round Two: Damon Wilson II, EDGE, MiamiDamon Wilson’s world-class athleticism and explosiveness make him a dynamic threat who wreaks havoc as a pass rusher. He has a lightning-quick first step and contains the needed flexibility to win with speed around the edge. Additionally, he excels at converting speed to power and frequently pushes opposing linemen back into the quarterback. As of now, he’s limited to a designated pass rusher because he doesn’t have the needed strength to battle bigger tackles. He must improve in this area to establish himself as an every-down threat.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementSimilar to cornerback, the Saints have a bona fide number one edge rusher in Chase Young. Additionally, Cameron Jordan has had a fabulous career, but he will turn 37 during the season, and Carl Granderson has shown flashes, but is too inconsistent to be relied upon. So, adding another dangerous threat would be wise next offseason.Round Three: Cam Cook, RB, West VirginiaCam Cook burst onto the national scene last year at Jacksonville State with a league-leading 1,650 rushing yards. After that campaign, he transferred to West Virginia and is seeking another productive season. The five-foot-nine, 200-pound running back has otherworldly short-area quickness and has phenomenal vision and creativity in the backfield. He allows blocks to set up, then fires through the gap once he finds his lane. Cook doesn’t have elite top-end speed and power, but is an enticing change-of-pace back.Travis Etienne Jr. is the clear-cut starter for the Saints. Alvin Kamara will be a valuable backup, but will be 31 before the season. With this in mind, finding his successor is crucial next offseason. Cook has a similar archetype to the veteran and could eventually fill his role.
