While the Oklahoma Sooners have a projected starting defense that is made up of pretty much all homegrown players, the offense is a different story. While there are some homegrown players among the projected starters, many of the players who will play major roles on offense this year didn’t begin their college careers at OU.That includes wide receivers Trell Harris and Parker Livingstone and offensive lineman E’Marion Harris, all of whom joined the team this offseason and are projected starters in Norman. All three players were among ESPN’s rankings of the top 100 transfer portal players for the 2026 season, released on Monday.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementHarris checked in at No. 59 after catching 59 passes for 847 yards and 5 touchdowns in 2024 as the Cavaliers’ No. 1 target. The Sooners were looking to add a difference-maker at receiver to pair with speedy slot receiver Isaiah Sategna III and bolster their passing attack ahead of quarterback John Mateer’s senior season. Harris played nearly 80% of his snaps at outside receiver in 2025 according to PFF and should plug in nicely as a veteran starter who sees a ton of targets. – Max Olson, ESPN.Next up was Livingstone, who comes to OU from rival Texas. He caught 29 passes for 516 yards and six touchdowns last year, and he checked in at No. 96 on the list.Livingstone switching sides in the Red River Rivalry was one of the most surprising pledges of his portal window, but he found the offer and opportunity he was looking for in Norman after also visiting Indiana. He should be a new favorite target for Mateer alongside Sategna and Harris. – Olson, ESPN.Finally it was Harris, the Arkansas transfer, who checks in at No. 98. He’s an experienced veteran who will likely start right away in Norman, and he’ll be an important piece along with OU’s young players on the offensive line.An SEC starter with more than 1,600 career snaps played is always going to be valuable in the portal. It’ll be interesting to see where the right fit for Harris is along Oklahoma’s offensive line, though taking over for Derek Simmons at right tackle seems like the logical place to start. – Olson, ESPN.Oklahoma’s homegrown defense has been built in the image of head coach Brent Venables, and that very strong unit led the way for OU’s run to the College Football Playoff last year. On the other side of the ball, it’s the transfer-heavy offense that the Sooners hope can take a big step forward this fall, aided by their portal newcomers from this winter, as OU looks to make a return trip to the CFP.1 / 42Apr 18, 2026; Norman, OK, USA; Oklahoma Sooners linebacker Owen Heinecke (38) hugs linebacker Kip Lewis (10) before the Oklahoma Spring Game at Gaylord Family Memorial Stadium.
