Before the start of training camp, I’m breaking down each of the Detroit Lions’ projected starters with a player profile series. After beginning with quarterback Jared Goff, the spotlight now shifts to one of the NFL’s premier wide receivers and the heartbeat of Detroit’s offense, Amon-Ra St. Brown. Since being selected in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft, St. Brown has developed from an overlooked prospect into one of football’s most dependable and productive playmakers. Entering his sixth NFL season, he will once again be expected to lead the Lions’ receiving corps while serving as Goff’s most trusted target.St. Brown has firmly established himself among the league’s elite receivers. He has earned All-Pro honors in each of the past three seasons, including two first-team selections and one second-team nod. Few receivers have matched his combination of consistency, production and reliability during that stretch.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementHis résumé speaks for itself. St. Brown has recorded at least 1,100 receiving yards in each of the past four seasons and has surpassed 1,200 yards in three consecutive years. He has also caught at least 10 touchdown passes in each of the past three seasons while recording 105 or more receptions in four straight years. Those numbers place him among the NFL’s most productive pass catchers and have made him the centerpiece of Detroit’s passing attack.St. Brown is also climbing the Lions’ record books at a remarkable pace. He currently ranks fourth in franchise history in career receiving yards, trailing only Calvin Johnson, Herman Moore and Johnnie Morton. His 1,515-yard campaign also ranks as the fourth-highest single-season receiving total in franchise history.Although St. Brown started all 17 games in 2025, his durability was tested. He exited Detroit’s Thanksgiving matchup against the Green Bay Packers after suffering an injury on the Lions’ third offensive play and did not return. Despite essentially losing an entire game of production, he still posted another elite season.According to Pro Football Focus, St. Brown earned a 90.7 overall offensive grade, ranking third among 81 qualified wide receivers. His 90.6 receiving grade also ranked third at the position. He finished the season with 117 receptions on 162 targets for 1,401 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns while averaging 12 yards per catch. He added 591 yards after the catch, showcasing his ability to create big plays with the ball in his hands, and was credited with just five drops all season. His average depth of target of 8.4 yards reflects his versatility as both a possession receiver and a reliable chain mover.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementSportsbooks continue to expect another productive season. FanDuel has set St. Brown’s receiving yardage prop at 1,222.5 yards and his touchdown total at 8.5. Considering he has exceeded both marks in each of the past three seasons, those projections appear at
