I think we got a different mentality about, you know, stepping in and actually how to win a tournament like this.Reid Travis was an unexpected late scratch from the roster. The 6-foot-8 power forward spent just one year in Lexington but averaged 11.2 points and 7.2 rebounds per game while shooting 53.7% from the floor. La Familia head coach Jon Hood is confident in his team’s ability to make up for Travis’ absence.“I’m a former D2 coach, and in a small college, you’re playing small ball,” Hood said. “We’ve got Kahlil Whitney, we can put out there. We’ve got James Bell that we can run the five with. I mean, there will be a lot of options.”La Familia will square off against The Ville on Saturday, July 18, at Historic Memorial Coliseum.
