   ​After a hard-fought spring season, it’s time to look back and recognize those that made the greatest impact on their team.These track stars shined throughout the season and had big performances at the Meet of Champions, MIAA states and at the league level.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementCheck out the nominees for Girls Track and Field Athlete of the Year and vote for who you think deserves the honor.Reader votes will make up 25% of the tally, with sports reporter Cait Kemp making up the rest of the vote.The poll will run until July 24 at noon.More: Oakmont lacrosse’s ‘generational talent’ earns second All-American honorCleaves was a Div. 5 state champion on the pole vault and placed 16th in the event at the Meet of Champions. She also competed in the 400 meter (14th) and 4×400 relay (seventh) at states.Falconi was second in shot put and fifth in the 200 meter at the Div. 5 state championship. She went on to compete at the Meet of Champions and was ninth in the shot put.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementMore: The Gardner News Tennis Player of the Year is a two-time winnerGeorge was the Mid-Wach E league champion in the triple jump and second in the 100 meter. She was also ninth in the triple jump at the Div. 6 state championship.McCaie was a big contributor at the CMAC league championship.
