Michigan State To Battle Blue Bloods After Offering 2027 4-Star PG

   ​Tom Izzo has a reputation as one of the best coaches in the nation. That reputation goes a long way in recruiting and the Spartans hope that it works once again for one of the nation’s top point guard — but it will be a battle.Michigan State officially offered four-star point guard Antonio Pemberton on Sunday. Shortly after, other top programs got into the mix, meaning Michigan State will likely have to beat out a blue blood or two for Pemberton.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementPemberton is currently ranked as the No. 35 overall player in the 2027 class, according to 247Sports. He is slated as the top player in Massachusetts and No. 9 point guard in the nation.Michigan State offered on Sunday and the next day, Pemberton heard from both UCLA and Kansas. He currently holds 20 offers, including Utah, Iowa, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Maryand, and Notre Dame.Pemberton has been rising quickly this summer due to his performance at multiple showcases. He has been putting up big numbers for Mass Rivals, including 22 points per game in the 3Stripes Select Basketball Circuit. A product of The Master’s Academy International, Pemberton has drawn comparisons to Jalen Brunson and Ben Gordon because of his efficiency and ability to make difficult shots.
