A meeting of senior German football officials about the planned appointment of Jürgen Klopp as Germany coach ended without any concrete results on Wednesday, dpa has learned.According to sources close to the matter, an online meeting of the German Football Federation (DFB) supervisory board and the wider stakeholders was purely for information purposes and no decisions were taken.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementDFB president Bernd Neuendorf briefed participants on talks held in recent days with Klopp in New York and in Munich with Oliver Mintzlaff, the boss of Klopp’s current employer Red Bull, where the former Liverpool coach is Head of Global Soccer.Klopp’s possible salary or compensation payments to the football franchise arm of Red Bull were not discussed, sources added.A sticking point for a final agreement with Klopp are his various private advertising contracts, media reports say. The DFB must seek a solution with its own partners on whether the 59-year-old, as future Germany coach, could also be active for rival companies. As for Klopp’s exit from Red Bull, the DFB has already reached key points of agreement with the drinks group’s football empire. The remaining issues are said to concern details, with reports saying “creative solutions” are being sought to end a deal running until 2029.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementKlopp is expected to receive a contract until the 2030 World Cup as the 13th head coach of the German men’s national team.It is unclear when a final deal can be reached. Mintzlaff is travelling to the US to speak directly with Klopp before or after the World Cup final on Sunday. The former Borussia Dortmund coach has been a pundit for German broadcaster MagentaTV during the tournament. There is no real urgency in naming a successor to Julian Nagelsmann, who resigned after the World Cup last-32 loss to Paraguay last month. The next Germany internationals are not until September 24 to October 4, with four Nations League matches in the Netherlands, against Serbia and twice against Greece.FILE PHOTO – Bernd Neuendorf, President of the German Football Association (DFB), speaks during a press conference.
