After opening Summer League with wins through the first two games behind convincing efforts from the stars, the Washington Wizards have now dropped the second consecutive game in as many nights after the Los Angeles Clippers took a 108-94 finish on Wednesday night. While the loss eliminates the Wizards from postseason contention with a date and opponent for the fifth and final game of Summer League to be determined, we dive into our takeaways from game four:AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementUNC product impresses, but on offense…Reece Beekman and Seth Trimble stuck out through the first three games thanks to their defensive efforts, but Wednesday night marked a sign of what a good night looks like for Trimble. After entering the night shooting under 33% from the field in Summer League, Trimble’s efforts as a catch-and-shoot and perimeter scoring were clicking after proving to be the spark alongside Chris Livingston, giving the UNC product more ammo to stick within the organization. Trimble finished with a team-high 24 points on 8-of-12 shooting, including 2-of-5 from three, with three rebounds in 27 minutes.Go-Go guard with second 20-point game…after finishing with a team-high 21 points on Tuesday night, Chris Livingston followed it up by scoring ten of his 20 points in the fourth quarter to give the Wizards late juice for comeback efforts before the Clippers held them off. Livingston’s latest 20 point game came while shooting over 50% from the field where he was aggressive attacking the rim similar to his time with the Go-Go last season, adding to his chances of at least returning to a role as a scorer with Capital City in 2026-27. The 22 year old forward will have a chance to flash in the Summer League finale.Inactives…Wednesday proved to be a lackluster showing with key inactives for both teams. Seth Trimble and Reece Beekman had a chance to live up to their billing as strong perimeter defenders against one of the top guards in last month’s draft in Keaton Wagler, but news surfaced shortly prior to tipoff that the fifth overall pick was inactive due to rest. For Washington, news emerged roughly two hours before tipoff that second round selection Felix Okpara would not play on the second of the back-to-back with uncertainty whether he ultimately suits up in the fifth game. Maybe the most surprising of all was the absence of Julian Reese, who is on a two-way deal. Whether the University of Maryland product suits up in the finale remains to be seen, but for a player fighting for a roster spot, his absence was notable on a night he had another chance to make an impression.Wizards Roundtable also offers a fan community.
