Goose Hutchens, NCAA’s top 2027 recruit, joining OU softball this fall after reclassifying

   ​NORMAN — Oklahoma softball won’t have to wait another year for Wagoner catcher Goose Hutchens’ arrival.The No. 1 overall recruit in D1Softball’s 2027 recruiting rankings is reclassifying to the 2026 class and will join the Sooners this fall, the school announced Thursday.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementHutchens, a junior last season, primarily played catcher and third base. As a sophomore, she tied the state record for home runs.”I always trust God’s timing,” Hutchens said in a release. “I am so excited for this new step in life.”She competed in travel ball for the Iowa Premier 18U National-Dickel team.
