Anyone else miss RJ Davis? Scoring 2,710 points across his collegiate career, the former UNC fan favorite is now entering his second season in pro ball.Davis initially signed an Exhibit-10 contract with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2025, then played his entire season with the G League South Bay Lakers. Davis is currently thriving with the San Antonio Spurs’ NBA Summer League team, recently scoring 20 points during a Sunday win.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementAdd another big performance to Davis’ summer. In the Spurs’ 94-82 win over the Utah Jazz and second overall NBA Draft pick Darryn Peterson on Wednesday night, Davis started and recorded a 14-point, 12-rebound double-double.Davis shot 5-of-12 from the field, making one of his six 3-point attempts and his lone free throw. Trimble and Davis played together for three seasons, with Trimble taking over for Davis as UNC’s leader during its 2025-26 campaign.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThere’s no shortage of impressive accolades for Davis during his 5-year Tar Heel career: 2024 ACC Player of the Year, 2025 Jerry West Award winner, Dean Dome single-game record for points and, perhaps the greatest honor of all, having his jersey up in the rafters.Wednesday night was the most impressive in Davis’ second summer as a pro.
