The Utah Jazz dropped their latest Las Vegas Summer League game on Wednesday, losing 94–82 to the San Antonio Spurs. Utah stayed competitive through most of the night but couldn’t match San Antonio’s late execution, falling to 1–3 in Vegas.Darryn Peterson led the Jazz with 15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, 1 block and 4 turnovers, continuing to show the on‑ball usage and creation Utah has emphasized throughout Summer League. While turnovers have been an issue, it’s clear that he is not afraid to continue playing his game as he continues to grow into becoming Utah’s primary offensive catalyst.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementCenter Orlando Robinson delivered one of the team’s most complete performances of the week, finishing with 11 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. His activity on both ends kept Utah organized, and he was one of the few players consistently able to break the Spurs’ defensive rhythm, serving as an unlikely creator for the Jazz.Bez Mbeng added 12 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists, giving Utah another steady guard presence. His ability to get into the lane and make simple reads helped guide the offense during stretches where Peterson drew traps and his output faltered.Tamar Bates finished with 16 points and gave Utah much-needed shot creation throughout the game. Bates’ ability to generate mid‑range looks kept the Jazz within reach before the Spurs pulled away late.Blake Hinson, one of Utah’s two‑way players, had a quiet night with 5 points and 1 rebound, struggling to find open looks despite having a relatively productive summer league so far. His scoring ability remains important for Utah’s summer league structure, but San Antonio limited his attempts.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementHayden Gray added 6 points, 1 rebound, and 2 assists, giving Utah supplemental guard minutes with the injuries piling up.The Jazz were competitive early, moving the ball well and generating quality shots, but San Antonio’s physicality and late defensive pressure shifted the game. Utah’s turnovers and stalled possessions in the fourth quarter allowed the Spurs to create separation and close out the win. While the summer league is meant to be an evaluation process more than anything, the team will still look for cleaner execution and fewer giveaways as Summer League continues. The Jazz return to action later this week, hoping some key players also return, as they continue their Vegas slate against the Portland Trail Blazers and evaluate their young core.
