New Mexico State’s 2026 football squad features 25 total offensive newcomers. Among them, two players come from junior colleges, eight are high school recruits, and the remaining 15 arrived via the transfer portal from other Division I programs. Here is a complete look at all 25, including their 2025 performance and notable details about each.
QB Trey Arnold (RS Freshman, 6-2, 210). Arriving from Mission Bay High School (California). 2025 stats: 3,295 passing yards, 47 touchdowns, six interceptions. Notable info: Arnold holds seven Mission Bay High School records, including marks for career passing yards, career completions, and career touchdown passes.
QB Trey Hedden (Junior, 6-3, 225). Arriving from Furman. 2025 stats: 2,967 passing yards, 17 touchdowns, 13 interceptions. Notable info: Hedden earned a Southern Conference All-Freshman team honor in 2024 and started all 12 games in 2025. He could be NM State’s starting quarterback this season.

RB TJ Washington Jr. (RS Junior, 5-11, 205). Arriving from Iowa. 2025 stats: 98 rushing yards and 18 receiving yards. Notable info: Washington Jr. totaled 182 rushing yards and 51 receiving yards over three seasons at Iowa, and he caught one touchdown in 2024.
