After suffering an ACL tear in Week 14 of the 2025 season, Ertz has now been fully cleared and is eager to play football once more, via Adam Schefter of ESPN.“After tearing his ACL last season, three-time Pro Bowl TE Zach Ertz officially has been officially cleared for all football activities and wants to play this season,” Schefter wrote. “He was at Stanford today catching balls from his college QB, Andrew Luck. He is coming off of a serious injury as is and would be entering his 14th NFL season should he return. But now that he is cleared, Ertz is itching to get back. And his resume should surely earn him another opportunity at the NFL level.Over his 181 games total in the NFL, Ertz has caught 825 passes for 8,592 yards and 57 touchdowns. In the 13 games he appeared in with the Washington Commanders prior to injury in 2025, the tight end caught 50 passes for 504 yards and four touchdowns. He is a three-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion.If injuries pile up or it’s clear a team is weak at tight end, Ertz’s phone should now start to ring.
