​Following the induction of the Hall of Fame class of 2026, all eyes are now on 2027. The 2026 class was loaded with talent, but the 2027 class could be even better, given who is now eligible for the class for the first time. The list includes several Super Bowl champions, former All-Pros, and players who have left their mark on the game of football.Among them are several former stars, such as Gerald McCoy, Richard Sherman, Antonio Brown, and Rob Gronkowski. Of all of them, one player may stand above the rest, and that is former Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, who will be eligible for the first time. CBS Sports’ Bryan DeArdo ranked the chances of each eligible player for 2027 and he labeled Peterson’s chances as “good as gold.”He wrote about it, saying, “Peterson is also widely regarded as one of the best ever at his position. The fifth leading rusher in NFL history, Peterson is the last non-quarterback to win league MVP. That season (2012), Peterson ran for 2,097 yards, the second-highest single-season total in league history. He won his third rushing title at age 30 and was still putting up 1,000-yard seasons at age 33.”DeArdo also hints that the only thing that could derail Peterson’s chances is some recent legal issues, but hints that none should stop him from receiving votes at the end of the day.
