​Norwich City boss Philippe Clement has likened his squad to “one family” after they held off Cardiff City 2-1 to progress to the third round of the Carabao Cup.Croatian striker Ante Crnac scored what turned out to be the winner after coming on as a second-half substitute, guiding a low cross from Jack Stacey into the net. It was his first goal since recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury which had kept him out of action for 10 months and was met by huge celebrations from the travelling Canaries supporters and all those on the visitors’ bench.”Really special for him. I congratulated him not only for the goal but for 10 months of really hard work and staying positive and fighting back,” Clement told BBC Radio Norfolk.”It’s really nice that in his first minutes, he can get the reward to score a very important goal for the club, and to [help] us qualify.”It will give him a lot of confidence for the future because he’s been fighting with his body for 10 months. So, to get this reward, and see that your body is fine, it’s a really important thing for him.”Norwich winger Ali Ahmed has also suffered a ruptured ACL in his right knee and is expected to miss most, if not all, of the 2026-27 season.”We are one family so everybody lives with each other in the good, and the bad, moments,” Clement continued.”Everybody is also living with Ali [Ahmed] for the moment.
