TJ CAPERS #11Height: 6’2” Weight: 225lbPosition: LBClass: SeniorHometown: Miami, FLSummary: Seems like we’ve been talking about TJ Capers for eight seasons, and that’s a good thing. The guy came in as a freshman and turned heads quickly, earning reps right form the jump and making impact plays even as a newcomer. His speed was what stood out initially, but now it’s his size and power, adding to his frame the last couple years, and now helping anchor a linebacker room as a Senior.Capers set multiple personal bests last season when it came to defensive statistics, but I don’t know if I’ve ever jumped out of my seat faster than his iron grip rolling interception to seal the Cards win in Miami last year. Want to watch it again? Lets watch it again.(That fanbase pop off that slow-mo replay where we watched intently and then confirmed it didn’t hit the ground…could have feed families in Louisville all year). There is a big ask of Capers this season and that’s to take a career best effort from 2025 and build on it even more. Partnered with Stanquan the middle of the defense rests on these guys to create big plays both in the passing attack and the ground game. I trust Capers to step up to that next level and show a few more folks nationally just how good he can be.******DAVIN WYDNER #11Height: 6’5” Weight: 225lbPosition: QBClass: SeniorHometown: Clinton, NJSummary: While the transfer portal news each day got the blood pumping for football in January, and the excitement built for what the Cards could look like in 2026, the announcement of Davin Wydner on January 11th didn’t exactly push the needle to the extreme. A nice piece to the QB room, a great add to Lincoln who they secured days earlier, and some depth with playing experience. As the months rolled on in the Spring, where we saw him take some snaps in a Louisville uniform, and then into the summer, and now a few weeks into the fall, my thoughts have changed…..Davin is a dude. The number two QB as we sit today brought plenty of stats over from West Georgia both in the air and on the ground, a true dual-threat option who was even getting some one on one time with Coach Barclay a couple weeks ago in practice, looking to elevate his ground attack when given the chance. I have to be honest, I love this guy. He has great size, a strong arm, and has shown on tape he can make the throws needed to succeed. Mix in the fact that he can up and skedaddle if necessary, and Wydner is a legit option in this offense if needed. I wrote in my fall camp notes that if an injury occurs or performance becomes an issue, my confidence in Wydner is pretty high to come in and keep the train moving at a high rate of speed. Check out some clips from Wydner at West Georgia and get caught up on a Wednesday wondering what Brohm might cook up for QB2 if the timing is right.
