The burglary occurred at approximately 12:30 a.m. after suspects reportedly broke an exterior window and entered the store. Multiple display cases were smashed during the incident.The suspects remained at large as of Wednesday.Although Brady’s name makes the crime noteworthy, the timing makes it especially jarring. The Palo Alto store celebrated its grand opening Aug. 15, just eight days before the burglary. That alleged theft did not involve a smashed window or broken display cases. A suspect instead attempted to make a purchase with a credit card before allegedly manipulating prompts on the payment terminal after the transaction was declined.The suspect then left with the merchandise, according to the previous report. The latest theft occurred only six days after the Palo Alto Police Department welcomed Brady and CardVault to the neighborhood.Brady posed for a photograph with a police officer during the store’s opening weekend, which reportedly attracted a large crowd.“@cardvaultbytombrady opened its doors in Palo Alto over the weekend and drew a big crowd,” the department wrote on Instagram. “Look who we ran into! Few athletes have a stronger connection to the collectibles market than the former New England Patriots quarterback, whose rare cards and signed memorabilia can command enormous prices.The 60 stolen cards were collectively valued at more than $12,000, but authorities did not
