The Las Vegas Summer League will begin on July 9, and whether Hugo González will be with the Boston Celtics is still unclear.

According to NBA insider Keith Smith, González will be suiting up for Spain for the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers on July 2 and 5. However, Smith noted that his status for the Summer League season is up in the air, given how close the dates are.
González had a decent rookie season, showing flashes of being a solid player down the line. He played well eniough to where the Milwaukee Bucks wanted him included in the Celtics’ offer for Giannis Antetokounmpo.
González started just three games last season. He scored a season-high 18 points against the Bucks in March. He averaged over 14 minutes per game last season and averaged 3.9 points.

González averaged over 16 minutes and 5.5 points in last year’s Summer League. The Celtics drafted him in the first round last year, and are hoping he can develop into a difference maker.
