Adjustments already have begun in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. ESPN’s “College GameDay” has been moved indoors. The game, for now, is still scheduled to kickoff at 7:30 p.m. ET. This is just the latest game in the southeast that has been threatened by hurricanes. Here are some prominent games in recent years that were harder to set up, pushed up or back on the calendar, moved to a different location or canceled because of hurricanes. They are listed in chronological order by the originally scheduled date.Florida State at Miami, 2016Hurricane Matthew caused delays in travel planning and adjustments in tailgating, but the game was played on Oct. 8 as scheduled. Florida State won 20-19 on a blocked extra point in the final two minutes.Georgia at South Carolina, 2016Matthew caused the game, originally scheduled for Oct. 8, to be moved back a day. Georgia won 28-14.Florida at LSU, 2016This game was originally scheduled for Oct. 8 at Florida, but Matthew forced it to be pushed back to Nov. 19 at LSU. Florida won 16-10.Memphis at UCF, 2017Hurricane Irma caused the game to initially be moved up a day from Sept. 9. It was eventually played on Sept. 30. Memphis dropped its matchup with Georgia State to fit this one in. UCF won 40-13.Georgia Tech at UCF, 2017This game, scheduled for Sept. 16, was canceled because of Irma. UCF’s facilities housed 1,000 National Guard members and 250 of their vehicles.Georgia vs. Alabama already has plenty at stake. Miami won the rescheduled game 24-20. Miami’s game the following week was moved from Oct. 12 to Oct. 14.West Virginia at North Carolina State, 2018North Carolina State was supposed to host West Virginia on Sept. 15, but Hurricane Florence caused a cancellation, and it was never made up. The stadium would be used for emergency resources. North Carolina State added East Carolina to the schedule. West Virginia never added an opponent.Marshall at South Carolina, 2018Florence caused this game, originally scheduled for Sept. 15, to be canceled. South Carolina added Akron as a replacement.South Carolina State at South Carolina, 2022Hurricane Ian caused this game to be moved up from Oct. 1 to Sept. 29.
