India’s women’s team arrived at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 with a point to prove in the shortest format after they won the ODI championship in 2025.
Despite reaching the semi-finals five times across the tournament’s history, the T20 title has always stayed out of reach for the Women in Blue. That changes nothing about their ambition heading into this edition, which gets underway in England from June 12 to July 5.

The Indian women have had a successful tournament so far, winning three out of their four Group A games to keep themselves in contention for a spot in the semi-finals.
India began their campaign with an impressive wins against Pakistan and the Netherlands and lost their next match to South Africa by six wickets. However, India bounced back to win by five wickets against Bangladesh, and are now currently in second place in Group A.
