However, the Jags are not satisfied with what they have and are hoping to add to their squad before the NFL trade deadline.Per NFL on Prime insider James Palmer, the Jags have been searching hard for some help on their defensive front and were even in the mix for a big name.“They have been active, looking around the NFL for several weeks on the defensive front. That’s even before DaVon Hamilton went down. They are looking to swing big up front, I’m told. They were in on Jeffery Simmons and willing to spend major capital to acquire him, but the Titans weren’t gonna do it in the division. They checked on other hot defensive tackles across the league. If they don’t get something done, it won’t be due to a lack of effort,” Palmer said.Watch sports LIVE with fuboTV (free trial)The Jaguars’ need for reinforcements on the defensive line has been made even more pressing by DaVon Hamilton heading to IR due to a knee injury. Their depth at the position is now a bit lacking, and another injury would be a major problem. Adding Jeffery Simmons would have been huge for them, but it was always going to be hard for them since he was within the division. With the AFC South title all but secure, the Jaguars could legitimately be considered the team to beat in the AFC. But their defensive line depth could end up hurting them in the postseason, so they will be hoping to address that issue before the trade deadline.Related: The 1 Jaguars’ thing Trevor Lawrence laments from beatdown of Ravens on TNFRelated: Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence’s ‘relentless’ Liam Coen take that shows how he turned Jacksonville into a juggernaut
