The 81-year-old did not exactly do himself any favours with those fans who are not totally convinced by his performances in the booth. In what was a totally one-sided game, as the Jaguars secured yet another victory, Michaels shared a four-minute-long bedtime story as the East Coast of America neared midnight. Considering that a lot of fans have already expressed their concerns over Michaels’ commentary, this was not the play to win back some of the waning fans.Al Michaels shares four-minute-long bedtime story on Thursday Night FootballOver recent years, the veteran commentator sounds as if he has lost his spark in the booth. His commentary does not seem to have the same passion behind it as it once did, and telling a four-minute-long story is unlikely to convince fans otherwise.“I’ve got a good bedtime story coming up for you. Everybody likes a bedtime story, yeah. Remember, the Jaguars were granted their franchise in November of ’93 and didn’t start play until ’95. They and Carolina both came into the league together, but there’s a very interesting twist to when that franchise had its embryonic state,” Michaels began saying in the fourth quarter. The story rumbled on for four minutes while play continued in the background. However, the way in which Michaels brought the story to an end may just sum up the frustrations some fans now have with the lack of enthusiasm in his commentary.“Anyway, there’s your bedtime story. Interrupted by an interception, but apart from that,” he concluded. It is believed that Michaels has a rolling contract with Amazon Prime, which means they decide year-to-year whether they would like to keep him in the booth. Some serious questions may be asked over the coming months, given the negative feedback being shared by fans online.Read more:‘Been cheating’- Chiefs fans face fiery response over Patrick Mahomes and controversial callDerrick Henry passes LaDainian Tomlinson and one Steelers legend in all-time NFL listTom Brady explains why Brock Purdy deserves MVP consideration as 49ers impress
