The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback is opening up about reuniting with his family after there was a $12 million dispute years ago. However, the NFL is moving on and turning over a new leaf with his family.“In the past few months, I’ve been reconnected with my family,” Mayfield told the Tampa Bay Times. “It’s been good. Also, for them to have two grandbabies, it’s tough.”“What’s in the past is in the past. (Wife) Emily and I took (daughter Kova) down right around her first birthday. … First time they met her, and you (could) tell it just melted them.”The tension between the family formed after there was an alleged misappropriation of funds by an investment firm with businesses connected to Baker’s father, James, and brother Matt in 2023. Mayfield and his wife sought an audit that showed unauthorized money had been taken from their accounts from 2018 to 2021.In November 2024, they filed a lawsuit after it was alleged that they had not paid back the $12 million that they allegedly stole from the NFL star. “You can’t put yourself on a pedestal and act like I haven’t made mistakes in my life,” he told the Times. “I had the ability to forgive and that was what I wanted to get across. But we’re here and the door is open. The past few months, we have made good progress and began reconnecting.”Aaron Rodgers reconnects with family Mayfield follows Aaron Rodgers, who recently connected with his family. The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback shared a photo of him and his family last month on social media. He opened up about why he decided to post the interaction between them after several years. “There’s been a narrative out there,” he said, referencing news about the strained relationship with his family per USA Today. “There’s not been a lot of information that’s truthful about it. And I think that the personal life should stay personal and private.”Rodgers added that it will be the last time he posts about his family.“But I feel like it was part of the full-circle to just one time post something, and never again,” he added. “So that that narrative can finally be put to rest.”More lifestyle news:Cristiano Ronaldo’s wife Georgina wore $50M jewelry once worn by this music iconHayden Panettiere’s ex Wladimir Klitschko breaks silence on actress’s deathordyn Woods and Karl-Anthony Towns reveal designer custom wedding attire detailsCristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez reveal why wedding was in their living roomMariska Hargitay confirms Jalen Brunson’s ‘Law & Order SVU’ appearance
