Despite being pulled from his scheduled start on Sunday, July 12, the Milwaukee Brewers aren’t expecting Jacob Misiorowski to start in the team’s first series after the All-Star break.Misiorowski was, in all likelihood, in line to start for the National League in the All-Star Game. Instead, he was pulled due to his scheduled start, only to be pulled from that start less than 24 hours before the game.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementArm fatigue was listed as the main reason, and that’s to be expected with a 24-year-old who is consistently throwing 100+ mph.At the end of the day, the Brewers are stuck navigating a starting rotation that has been plagued with injuries.Quinn Priester is out for the year, Brandon Woodruff was just moved to the 60-day Injured List, Kyle Harrison was placed on the 15-day IL, and now this. It’s not going to be easy to maintain their 59-37 record, but time and time again manager Pat Murphy is able to work his magic. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Curt Hogg broke the news that Miz should start throwing again on Tuesday, July 14, the same date he was expected to pitch in the Midsummer Classic.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementAfter being shut down for a few days, MLB.com’s Adam McCalvy notes the team is likely pushing back his first start “as a way to control his innings,” though the team has yet to reveal their probable starters.Misiorowski threw 111.0 innings in the first half of the 2026 season. In 14 starts last year, he threw just 66.0 innings. His 100-plus innings this season came in 18 starts where he sported a 10-4 record with league-leading numbers in terms of his ERA (1.62), WHIP (0.76), and strikeouts (167).As much as it hurts Brewers fans, this is absolutely the right move. The Missouri native is still extremely young, and relatively unexperienced. One poor decision could end his season in a heartbeat, and with World Series aspirations, that’s the last thing this Brewers team needs.Thankfully for the Brewers, they are set to play nine straight games at home after the All-Star break. Milwaukee doesn’t play a divisional opponent until August 3-6, and then from there it’s a bunch of non-NL Central teams until August 31-September 3.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementOn paper, drawing the Miami Marlins, New York Mets, and Colorado Rockies at home is extremely ideal. It’s expected that Misiorowski will pitch in at least one of those games, but the exact date is still unknown.Don’t miss out on our ROUNDTABLE community and the latest news! It’s completely free to join.
