WACO, Texas (FOX 44) — Although the softball season may have wrapped up, a new wave of rising stars is already making a strong case for the future. Over 280 high school softball players took the field this weekend at the Parsons Sports Ranch Baseball and Softball Complex in Clifton for the venue’s inaugural College Softball Exposure Camp and Showcase. The event gave athletes a prime platform to compete in front of college coaches and open up fresh recruiting opportunities.
Twenty-four teams participated, bringing together players from across Central Texas to display their skills before coaches representing more than 10 college programs. Among the institutions in attendance were Baylor University, Texas A&M University, Auburn University, the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, and McLennan Community College. The exposure camp created an environment for athletes to highlight their talents while engaging with programs actively seeking the next generation of softball talent.
Organizers emphasized that the showcase was designed not only to evaluate abilities but also to forge connections between players and college programs. The aim is to help athletes gain visibility and to facilitate pathways to collegiate softball by demonstrating skill, speed, and athletic versatility in a competitive, college-minded setting.
Looking ahead, organizers expressed optimism that the inaugural event could become a staple on the recruiting circuit. They envision expanding the showcase with an additional weekend in the future, allowing even more softball players the chance to participate and be seen by coaches from a broader array of programs. The goal is to continue building momentum for the event, making it a yearly tradition that consistently brings together talent and opportunity under one roof.
