Democrat nominees ran the table in several senatorial and gubernatorial races across the country, with many describing it as a ‘blue wave’.Some of the NBA’s most prominent figures have historically leaned towards the Democrats. This has opened them up to ridicule at times from Trump himself. Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is one of those. Following the midterms, though, Kerr got in a dig of his own.Steve Kerr hilariously said he was disappointed not to receive Donald Trump’s $5,000 promise and fans loved itBefore the midterms, President Trump publicly promised to give $5,000 to every American adult if the Republicans maintained control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate. The Democrats now have an outright majority in both, so that’s no longer happening.Asked about the results, Kerr said, “I’m disappointed because I was looking forward to that $5,000 check that we were all going to get. I was so excited about it and sure about it that I spent it already. So now I’m gonna have to figure something out.” It was an obvious shot, and fans loved it.“Dude is clowning, and he deserves to get his jokes in,” one fan said. “Steve Kerr has always been one of the most vocal anti-Trump people in sports, so this checks out,” another fan added. “Kerr just couldn’t help himself, and I love it,” a third fan wrote.“Someone tell Kerr the Warriors luxury tax bill costs a little more than that,” a fourth fan commented. “Don’t worry Steve, we still got the tariff and DOGE checks coming,” a fifth fan replied. “You don’t even have to agree with his political views to respect this troll,” a different comment read.It is safe to say that these elections were a massive victory for the Democrats. Their supporters have been at the receiving end of a fair bit of mockery these last few years. It seems that Kerr is speaking for a lot of those people when he makes his little joke.Read more:NBA hero Amar’e Stoudemire reveals the two reasons he trained as police officerWhat Brian Windhorst thought about Draymond Green’s ‘face of the franchise’ comment on Yaxel LendeborgBill Simmons shares why he’s ‘really concerned’ about Nikola Jokic now
