Beckham, 51, attended the much-anticipated match between England and Argentina in Atlanta alongside longtime wife Victoria Beckham and their children, Cruz, Romeo and Harper Beckham.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementDespite gaining the lead in the second half of the game, the Three Lions were dealt a crushing blow when Argentina pulled off two goals within seven minutes to secure a 2-1 win.”Heartbreak for us all but memories that inspire and last forever,” Beckham wrote alongside a pair of photos from the match. “Thank you to our team, our fans [and] our country for what you have given us in this World Cup.”Beckham himself is no stranger to the World Cup.The six-time Premier League winner has competed in three World Cups for England, including reaching the quarterfinals twice. However, Beckham and his teammates never advanced past that round. Beckham’s first World Cup, taking place in France in 1998, nearly ended his career after he received a red card for kicking back during a foul with fellow player Diego Simeone.
