FIFA will sell pieces of World Cup Final grass for $450 each

According to an item on July 10 from UPI, FIFA plans to offer grass from the 2026 World Cup Final for sale at a price of $450, a detail that appears on the federation’s official website. The grass will be preserved in an acrylic cube and will accompany a USB drive that contains footage confirming its authenticity. Buyers who acquire the keepsake will also receive a hinged presentation box designed to hold both the grass and the USB.
The 2026 World Cup Final is scheduled for 3 p.m. EDT on July 19, with the match taking place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The grass used for the final was grown by the Carolina Green Corp. of Indian Trail, North Carolina. After cultivation, the turf was transported over hundreds of miles and laid down over a two-day period at the New York/New Jersey venue. Coordinating the logistics required more than two dozen trucks to complete the 12-hour journey.
This type of grass had previously been employed during the tournament’s early days, including the match between Brazil and Morocco on June 13, which marked the first of eight World Cup fixtures staged at the venue. During the tournament, several players, including Brazil’s Vinícius Júnior, criticized the playing surface, describing it as dry and slow.
In addition to the final grass keepsake, FIFA is offering other versions of the same grass at Keepstub.com, with price points ranging from $450 to $3,000. Beyond grass memorabilia, FIFA’s official store is featuring a broader array of World Cup merchandise, including team-themed luggage, vinyl records, match balls, hats, scarves, and shirts. Among the limited-time items are host-city themed jerseys, priced at $375, with other items varying in price and design.
The World Cup store and Keepstub.com selections reflect FIFA’s ongoing strategy to capitalize on memorabilia and collectible items tied to the tournament, providing fans with tangible keepsakes that commemorate the 2026 World Cup Final and the overall event experience. The grass keepsake, in particular, offers a unique, verifiable piece of the match day—a piece of the field encased in acrylic and coupled with a USB containing authenticity footage—appealing to collectors and enthusiasts eager to own a distinctive symbol of football history.
