​The Philadelphia Flyers have officially signed forward Trevor Zegras to an extension.Zegras, a pending RFA, agreed to a 4-year deal worth $9.125 million a year to remain in Philadelphia, per ESPNs Emily Kaplan. The Flyers acquired the forward from the Anaheim Ducks last summer in a deal that sent center Ryan Poehling, a 2025 2nd-round pick (45th overall), and a 2026 4th-round pick.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementSince coming to Philadelphia, Zegras has been used as a utility forward in the team’s top six. He played a hybrid center role with Christian Dvorak for a good bit in the beginning of the season, before becoming a primary winger in the middle months. Around the trade deadline, Zegras became a primary center later in the year.In his first year with the Flyers, the 25-year-old tallied a career high in goals, 26, and points, 67. His assist total of 41 was one lower than his career-high of 42, set in 2022-23 with the Ducks.Zegras had battled injury at the end of his tenure with the Ducks, but played 81 games this season. It was just the third time in his 6-year career that he played more than 75 games. He averaged 18:43 minutes a game this past season.Zegras was 2nd on the team with his 67 points, 3rd in goals, and tied for the team lead in assists. His 10 power-play goals, a career high, led the team by a wide 6-goal margin.
