Former Arkansas wide receiver Jalen Brown announced on social media Wednesday night that all legal charges against him have been officially dismissed. In the wake of the news, On3’s Pete Nakos reported that Brown plans to enter the Transfer Portal. Brown was dismissed from the Razorbacks program in April after being arrested on a charge of hindering apprehension or prosecution. A four-star prospect from the Class of 2023, Brown was rated as the No. 79 recruit nationally and the No. 13 wide receiver in his class. He previously spent time at LSU and Florida State before appearing in five games for Arkansas.
Across his collegiate career, spanning 17 games, Brown has recorded 20 receptions for 242 yards and two touchdowns. He shared a brief moment of public misfortune with an accompanying image captioned “Gods Plan,” posted on July 8, 2026, on his social media page. In a formal statement following the dismissal of the charges, Brown said, “Today, I’m grateful to share that the legal charges against me have been officially dismissed. This has been one of the most difficult chapters of my life, but it has also been a time of reflection, growth, resilience, and learning. I’m thankful this matter has been resolved with a fresh start. I appreciate everyone who stood by me, supported me, and believed in me throughout this process — your encouragement has meant more than words can express. My focus is now on the future: continuing to grow as a person, pursuing my education and career, creating new opportunities, and letting my actions speak louder than my past. I remain committed to representing myself, my family, and my community with integrity, humility, and purpose. Thank you to everyone who has supported me along this journey. I’m looking forward to this next chapter with gratitude, determination, and optimism.”
Brown’s college journey began at LSU, where he appeared in three games as a true freshman, preserving his redshirt status. He then transferred to Florida State in 2024 and contributed in nine games for the Seminoles. However, his time in Tallahassee ended with a spring 2025 dismissal following an arrest for possession of a controlled substance. After being dismissed from Florida State, Brown found himself moving again, this time leaving Arkansas and seeking another opportunity to continue his football career at a fourth program.
As Brown moves toward the next chapter of his career, analysts and fans alike will be watching how he navigates the Transfer Portal and what opportunities may arise at other programs. For those following player movement among college teams, On3’s Transfer Portal wire remains a key resource for the latest updates. The On3 Transfer Portal Instagram and Twitter accounts regularly provide up-to-date information on new entries, departures, and status changes, making them useful tools for fans and teams tracking roster developments.
