Former Crunch fan favorite Daniel Walcott announces retirement

   ​SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) – After over a decade playing professional hockey, former Syracuse Crunch forward Daniel Walcott announced his retirement on Wednesday. Walcott will be joining the Syracuse Crunch organization as a community ambassador.In 2024, Walcott was honored with the Yanick Dupre award for his community service. On the ice, Daniel Walcott was drafted by the New York Rangers in the 5th round of the 2014 NHL draft.
