   ​Former Man Utd midfielder Fred set to return to BrazilFormer Manchester United midfielder  Fred is set to return to Brazilian football land join Atlético Mineiro.The 33-year-old is currently playing in Turkey with Fenerbahçe but according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Atlético have agreed to pay €2 million upfront, plus €500,000 in bonuses. Fred will sign a contract until 2030, with the option to extend for a further season.At 33, the midfielder has spent 13 years in European football, first with spells at Shakhtar Donetsk, Manchester United. During his five-season stint at Old Trafford he won one trophy, the 2022/23 League Cup having featured in the final against Newcastle United.Then for Turkish side Fenerbahçe, Fred played 45 matches last season, scoring four goals and providing five assists. Across his entire stint, the Brazilian leaves Istanbul with 129 appearances, 12 goals and 19 assists.In addition to his club experience, Fred also represented the Brazil national team during his time in Europe and played at the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, featuring in four matches in Qatar.
