FSU losses key offensive line target to ACC Rival

By admin — In News — July 11, 2026

Florida State received some bleak news on Saturday as a key target, three-star offensive lineman DaJohn Yarborough, committed to the California Golden Bears. Yarborough stands as the 426th-ranked recruit overall and the 25th-best interior offensive lineman in the nation according to Rivals’ industry rankings. At 6-foot-5 and 340 pounds, he also sits as the ninth-ranked prospect in Arizona.
This development represents a significant miss for FSU. Currently, the Seminoles do not have any offensive linemen committed in the 2027 cycle. After he appeared to have a legitimate shot at landing one of the top uncommitted linemen, Florida State now must reset its plan and recalibrate its approach on the recruiting trail. In addition to Yarborough, FSU recently missed out on another target, three-star running back Marquis Fennell, a development that adds to the sting of a slow period in recruiting.
FSU remains in contention for several promising prospects. They are still pursuing four-star safety Ta’Shawn Poole and four-star defensive lineman Karlos May, with commitments expected on July 17 and July 18, respectively. The Seminoles are also a leading contender for three-star edge Stevan Thornton III, and they will look to secure one—or several—of these players to rebuild their momentum after a relatively quiet June, a month in which they landed eight commitments.
