​GirlPower Flag Football is coming to West Texas and getting the newest athletes adjusted to the game. The NFL-affiliated program held a clinic on Friday for its future stars between the ages of six through 18. Compared to other flag football leagues which are typically co-ed, this one is girls only and allows them to grow and love the game of football.West Texas is GirlPower Flag Football’s 18th location across the nation and second in the state of Texas with Dallas.”West Texas has always been a pretty sports-oriented community,” GirlPower Flag Football West Texas Director JP Shoemaker said on bringing the league to the Permian Basin. “We’re a smaller community that everybody is involved with everything, sports are a big part of that, and so having this opportunity for the girls is important.” GirlPower Flag Football is a year-round league with seasons in both the fall and the spring.
