​It was truly a heartbreaking night at Liberty High School in O’Fallon, Missouri.At least 100 mourners packed the school’s football field Tuesday to honor 18-year-old Zachary Pruss.”He was one of the best players any coach would ever want,” said one of Pruss’ sobbing coaches.”He was the most loving guy I ever met,” said one classmate.His classmates, coaches, hockey teammates and many others showed up to honor the young athlete who touched so many.Zach recently graduated from Liberty High School.He was just weeks away from attending Mizzou and was a founding member of Liberty High School’s hockey team.During the memorial, touching collages of pictures hung from a fence of the little boy, who grew into a young man who made his parents proud.Zach’s No. 26 jersey was also on display amid lots of tears, hugs and fond memories.Cade Davis just one of many who cannot believe his hockey buddy is gone.”He was a great guy,  teammate. He welcomed me in because I was like a freshman. He just really made me feel welcome,” said Davis.”He was very confident, kindhearted and a very good role model. I’m just thankful that I met Zach,” said teammate Max Farber.An unexpected final farewell was capped off with the release of lots of blue and white balloons for the Zach they all will miss.The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the motorcyclist suffered serious injuries in the crash and was taken to a hospital.The crash remains under investigation.
