If Noël Aséko Nkili deal goes through, Max Eberl still won’t be done selling

According to a report from Abendzeitung, Bayern Munich’s board member for sport, Max Eberl, still has a substantial amount of work ahead this summer, and much of it will be challenging. He has been entrusted with several key player sales that are proving to be complex, as the club looks to streamline the squad and find new clubs for players who no longer have a future at Bayern. This task is proving difficult because Bayern has not yet received any offers for players such as Bryan Zaragoza, Sacha Boey, or João Palhinha, who were recently sent out on loan. Reports from Portugal indicate that Benfica Lisbon is showing interest in Palhinha, with a potential transfer fee discussed at around 25 million euros — roughly half of what Bayern paid Fulham for Palhinha in 2024 — which could mean a loss on the deal for the club.
More than those players, Hiroki Itō and Kim Min-jae are also on the list of players Bayern wants Eberl to move on, and given their salaries and Itō’s injury history, the process could be far from smooth for the veteran executive. Bayern is actively seeking buyers for Ito and Min-jae Kim, but so far no deals have materialized. According to AZ, Alphonso Davies reportedly wishes to stay and compete for his starting spot, even after the club signed a new left-back. In this transfer window, Bayern has already sold Daniel Peretz to Southampton, Alexander Nübel to Beşiktaş, and Jonah Kusi-Atre to Fulham; Noel Aseko is anticipated to depart for Eintracht Frankfurt next. The window so far has brought in around 20 million euros in transfer fees, with more likely to come, but the exact total remains to be seen.
Eberl now has a busy summer ahead, facing the delicate task of managing exits and potential replacements while navigating negotiations and market interest. The club’s aim to restructure the squad and optimize finances will require careful handling of potential sales, offers, and contract considerations to ensure Bayern remains competitive without overextending its resources.
