Oklahoma Sooners wide receiver Isaiah Sategna stood out as perhaps the most valuable offensive weapon last season. Whenever the Sooners needed a game-changing play, Sategna consistently rose to the occasion, delivering when the team required a spark. He concluded the year with 67 receptions for 965 yards and eight touchdowns, a stat line that underscored his status as a dynamic playmaker. Sategna’s elite speed made him one of the SEC’s most dangerous deep threats, often converting routine catches into explosive gains and stretching defenses down the field. He registered four 100-yard receiving performances, including a standout effort against the Missouri Tigers and LSU Tigers that combined for 12 receptions and 230 yards as Oklahoma clinched its berth in the College Football Playoff.
Despite a breakout season, Sategna himself believes there is still room for growth. There were instances where he leaned too heavily on spectacular over-the-top plays rather than consistently impacting the game on shorter and intermediate routes. This inconsistency manifested on several occasions, including a pair of games with fewer than 30 receiving yards and culminating in Oklahoma’s CFP semifinal loss to Alabama, where he managed two receptions for 17 yards and a touchdown.
Following his decision to return for another season, Sategna highlighted the primary focal points of his offseason training. “The first thing I’ve been working on this offseason is just my strength,” Sategna said. “Keeping my speed obviously, but strength is a big thing that I’ve been working on. I would say my route detail and just my route running. Just polishing it up.”
If Sategna can fuse his exceptional speed with improved strength and more precise route running, he has a clear path to elevate his game to a higher level in 2026. Becoming a more complete receiver would not only boost his prospects in the NFL draft but also provide Oklahoma with an even more dependable target as the program looks to build on last season’s College Football Playoff appearance.
