John Harbaugh didn’t deny Giants potentially staying in Jonathan Taylor sweepstakes

For now, the New York Giants are out of the Jonathan Taylor trade sweepstakes. The key words there, dearest readers, are “for now.”After the NFC East-leading Giants beat the Philadelphia Eagles 19-11 on Sunday, head coach John Harbaugh was asked about New York’s interest in Taylor and whether it had really pulled its initial trade offer to the Indianapolis Colts for the star running back, who seems to want out. Harbaugh not only didn’t deny the report, but he also said a lot can change between Sunday and Tuesday afternoon’s NFL trade deadline. Oh. Huh. So Taylor might still become a Giant by mid-week? Instead of slamming that possibility shut, Harbaugh left that door wide open:On the Jonathan Taylor talks, Harbaugh said he won’t deny reports that the Giants took their offer off the table. But they’re open for anything.“Things change day by day.” https://t.co/N3YeUUy2Hc— Jordan Raanan (@JordanRaanan) November 8, 2026For what it’s worth, that Taylor-to-Giants report said the Giants’ offer, including a second-round draft pick, wasn’t enough for the Colts’ tastes. It sure seems like Indianapolis wants at least one first-round draft selection in return for its best offensive player. That said, the report also maintained that the Giants were the only NFL team offering that much, meaning the Colts might not have much leverage if they want to get a deal done before the deadline. Taylor has two years left on his current contract after this season. Unless the Colts get an offer they truly love, be it from the Giants or someone else, he really might stay with Indianapolis through the end of the year.
