​Celtic FC Women are thrilled to welcome defender Lauren Doran-Barr to the squad as the latest addition for the 2026/27 season, signing a two-year contract. Doran-Barr arrives with a wealth of experience in Scottish football, having begun her senior career with Stirling University in 2018 before moving to Motherwell in 2019. There, the versatile full-back impressed with her performances, though a long-term injury sidelined her for the 2020/21 campaign.
Upon returning from injury, Doran-Barr’s form continued to flourish with Motherwell, ultimately earning a move to Hibernian in the summer of 2023, where she linked up with current Celtic boss Grant Scott. During her three seasons with the Hibees, she played a pivotal role under Scott, contributing to Hibernian’s first SWPL title in 18 years. Her time in women’s football at Hibernian also granted her valuable European experience following that league triumph, broadening her exposure to the game at a higher level.
Since making the move to Glasgow, Doran-Barr has spoken about her excitement and sense of alignment with Celtic’s ambitions. “I’m delighted. Celtic is obviously a massive club, so as soon as I knew the opportunity was there, it was too good to turn down,” she said. “I’m really excited to be here and looking forward to getting started.” She added that the club’s ambitions resonated with her own career goals, stating, “I think, in terms of the ambition for the team and what they’re looking to achieve, it really aligns with what I want to accomplish. There were no doubts that this was the right move for me, and I’m happy to be here.”
