Mariners Game #95 Preview and Discussion, 7/10/26: SEA vs TBR

By admin — In News — July 10, 2026

Around this time last year, the Mariners were walloped by the Yankees and appeared poised to cruise into the All-Star break after a final series with the league’s top team. Their path shifted when they traveled to Detroit and handed the Tigers a lopsided defeat, catalyzing what became one of the most pivotal second halves in team history. This season, Seattle hopes to recapture a sliver of that urgent, take-no-prisoners mindset as they head toward the 2026 stretch, coming off a sweep by the Marlins earlier in the week and now confronting the leading Rays before the pause.
On the mound for Seattle is former All-Star Luis Castillo, who will face reigning All-Star Nick Martinez of the Rays. For deeper context on Martinez, Jake Mailhot has you covered in our series preview.
One notable lineup shift for the Mariners today is the absence of Colt Emerson. J.P. Crawford will shift to shortstop, with Buddy Kennedy taking over at third base. Luke Raley also earns a day off, making way for Miles Mastrobuoni in right field. Julio Rodríguez will not be joining the squad in Tampa Bay, and Brendan Donovan is in Arizona preparing for a rehab assignment.
First pitch is set for 4:10 p.m. The game will be televised on Mariners.TV and carried on radio via Ol’ Reliable. This contest marks another test of Seattle’s resilience as they aim to recapture some late-season magic and push toward a meaningful run in 2026.
