This time around, however, they are employing a whole new philosophy to exceed expectations. That’s you. He’s trying to pull that out of us. He made the analogy that if someone squeezes an orange, watermelon juice won’t come out. So, when we’re squeezed, we have to be that team; it needs to be those four pillars of our identity,” the Patriots punter said about Coach Vrabel.What exactly are these four pillars that the Patriots need to stand by throughout the 2026 NFL season? They are: effort and finish; ball security and disruption; details, techniques and fundamentals; and making great decisions. Those were the same principles Maye and Co. employed, which earned them a 14-win record, the top seed in AFC East, and a Super Bowl berth.Coach Vrabel has made it abundantly clear that the Patriots are retaining these four pillars to finally get the job done when the Super Bowl rolls around. We have to be able to build every year, to start over and figure out the things that we do well, what we like and what the players have confidence in.
