Milan Track Manchester United Star and More Fullbacks

Among their numerous targets, Milan plans to overhaul their wings this summer and are weighing several options, starting with Noussair Mazraoui, a player who previously linked up with Ruben Amorim at Manchester United, per Matteo Moretto via SOSFanta. The process is still in the early stages, with no direct contact between Milan and Mazraoui’s club yet. The right-back is under contract through 2028 with an option, and he joined Old Trafford from Bayern Munich for €15 million in 2024, tallying 77 appearances and 3 assists to date. Mazraoui began his career at Ajax before moving on.
Milan will ultimately decide whether to pursue Mazraoui or pursue other targets. In the meantime, the club is open to selling Pervis Estupiñán, whom they acquired for €20 million just a year ago, with Aston Villa among the interested parties. Ideally, Estupiñán would depart for a similar fee. TuttoSport reports that the Rossoneri are seeking a right-footed specialist for the position. Amorim could potentially deploy Alexis Saelemaekers on the left flank, and Milan could contend with Inter for Guéla Doué, who has reportedly drawn interest. The club has offered Doué a five-year contract with a €2.5 million annual salary. Rafik Belghali, who has been circulated to several Serie A teams following Verona’s relegation, is among the more affordable options, with a asking price around €15 million.
While this area isn’t Milan’s top priority, Davide Bartesaghi remains a perfectly viable option, and Zachary Athekame has shown potential as a backup. Still, Milan will need another winger if they manage to offload Estupiñán without taking a heavy financial hit, which is easier said than done. If the club truly intends to overhaul its tactics and field a lineup with inverted wingers across the board, they should consider an offensive-minded option like Doué’s teammate Diego Moreira. This could position Milan to be more aggressive in the market and better aligned with their strategic goals for the season ahead.
