​STARKVILLE — Mississippi State football offensive lineman Miles McVay was arrested on charges of speeding and not possessing a driver’s license on demand on Aug. 17, according to an incident report obtained by the Clarion Ledger.McVay was arrested by the Mississippi Highway Patrol and booked in Oktibbeha County Jail at 5:39 p.m. and released at 7:20 p.m.According to the incident report, McVay was clocked driving 101 mph in a 65 mph zone in a black Ford F-150 pickup truck in the left lane of Mississippi Highway 25 near Mississippi Highway 182.”We are aware and will continue to gather more information,” a school spokesperson said in a statement to the Clarion Ledger. “Our continued expectation is that our student-athletes conduct themselves in an appropriate manner at all times.”McVay transferred to MSU this season from North Carolina and is a projected starting offensive tackle. He was a backup for the Tar Heels last season but appeared in eight games.
