Nantes reject latest Matthis Abline offer

Despite being relegated to Ligue 2, FC Nantes are continuing to hold out for a substantial bid for Matthis Abline (23). According to a report from L’Équipe, Les Canaris have declined another offer for the French youth international. Last summer, Nantes had valued Abline at approximately €40-50 million. Even with interest from Wolverhampton Wanderers and Paris FC, that valuation wasn’t met, leaving the forward at the Beaujoire. Abline had a modest season on a personal level, featuring in 34 games and scoring eight goals as Nantes dropped out of Ligue 1.
His future remains a heated topic of discussion. He has already drawn a €20 million bid from AS Monaco, and the Principality club continues to stay in touch with Nantes about a potential deal. Monaco faces competition from Paris FC, who have long tracked his progress and lodged a €23 million bid, according to L’Équipe. This offer has, once again, been rejected.
There are now faint indications that Nantes might be willing to ease their stance on Abline’s valuation. The Loire Valley club initially sought at least €30 million, a reduction from the €40 million cited last summer and as recently as the previous month. The situation remains fluid, with interest from multiple sides and Nantes weighing their negotiating position as they decide whether to part with a player they continue to rate highly.
