Week 8 of the 2026 NFL season is nearly a wrap, with just the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders left to play on “Monday Night Football.”There was plenty of excitement on Sunday, including two games that went into overtime, but they unfortunately weren’t without injuries. Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson made his return to the lineup after rehabbing an ankle injury, but that excitement was short-lived, as he suffered a thumb injury on his first pass attempt of the game. Per head coach Jesse Minter, he’ll require surgery and a stint on the injured reserve list — a brutal blow. Backup Tyler Huntley is also dealing with what is thought to be a turf toe injury, which forced Baltimore to resort to their emergency third quarterback, Joe Fagnano. He completed 10 of 21 pass attempts for 91 yards and an interception in relief of Jackson and Huntley this week. The Ravens are playing on a short week, as they’re set to host the Jacksonville Jaguars on “Thursday Night Football” in Week 9.The Detroit Lions handed the Minnesota Vikings their first loss of the season, but lost a key playmaker on defense as All-Pro linebacker Jack Campbell suffered a scary-looking neck injury. He was immobilized on a backboard before being transported to the hospital as his teammates gathered around him in an emotional scene.Follow along with Yahoo Sports for the latest NFL news, injury updates and more coming out of Week 8.
