The Arizona Cardinals earned a little respect in Week 6 when they beat the LA Rams. However, they’ve lost any respect they earned. They lost on Sunday 30-16 to the Denver Broncos, and that sent them tumbling in the latest NFL power rankings from NFL.com’s Nick Shook. After their loss on Sunday, they fell eight spots, all the way to No. 30, which makes them the third-worst team in the league by these rankings. Arizona’s performance in Sunday’s loss to Denver was too predictable. The Cardinals once again became a chuck-and-pray offense on third down, gave up an inexcusable, 62-yard scramble touchdown to Bo Nix, and produced a calamity of errors in the clubhouse leader for worst goal-to-go possession of the year. I feel for Jacoby Brissett, who was brutalized by Denver’s defense. It’s tough to be a Cardinals fan right now.Their drop was tied for the largest of the week, as the Baltimore Ravens also fell eight spots. The Cardinals now play the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday on the road, who moved up four spots to No. 22. Then they face the Seattle Seahawks and Rams, each for the second time. The Cardinals are now 5-19 in their last 24 games. They have allowed 30 or more points in five of their last six games and in 11 of their last 17. The worst part is that there are few changes that can be made. Things could be worse, but they couldn’t be much worse.
